Lynda Lou Lowry, 61, of Tucson, Ariz. and formerly of Marcellus, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, Nov. 24, 2010 in Tucson after a long battle with breast cancer.
Lynda was born March 2, 1949 in Benton Harbor, the daughter of James L. and Katherine A. (Backensto) Jacobson.
After working as a radio announcer, salesperson and corporate controller, she finished her education at Western Michigan University and the University of Michigan Law School. As an attorney, she was a champion for justice. She spent her retirement as an artist and encouraging others to be all they could be.
Lynda is survived by her husband of 27 years, Raymond Lowry; her father and mother, James and Katherine Jacobson; daughter, Kandus (Harold) Kruger-Passig; sons, Kris (Sherry) Kruger and Kelly (April) Kruger; brothers, Martin (Judy Schaefer) Jacobson and Ken (Sandy Martino) Jacobson; sister, Donna (Nat Ingles) Jacobson; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who will miss her kind words and cherish her memory.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1 in Marcellus Cemetery with Father David Lillvis of the Trinity Episcopal Church of Three Rivers officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30 in the Mater Funeral Home, Marcellus.
