Kenneth Wayne Parshall, age 70, of Burr Oak, passed away Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at Sturgis Hospital after an extended illness.
Kenneth was born Nov. 19, 1940, in Kinderhook Twp., Mich., a son to the late James Edward and Ina Mae (Sellers) Parshall.
Kenneth had lived in Freemont, Ind., and Union City, graduating from Union City High School with the Class of 1960. He had lived at his present address the past 28 years.
On Aug. 30, 1986, he married Ann (Hagelgans) Carr in Sturgis.
Kenneth was a self employed truck driver, he had worked for Sturgis Foundry, B& F Grain in Orland, and had taught at American Truck Driving School in Coldwater. He also drove for the Amish.
His passion was farming and truck driving.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Parshall of Burr Oak; children, Annita (Phillip) Johnson of Auburn, Wash., Julie (Joe) Burger of Bronson, and David (Rose) Parshall of Colon; step-children, Phillip (Darcie) Carr of Colon, Dale (Roxanne) Carr of Troy, Keith (Alisha) Carr of Union City and Patricia (Robert) Gerring of Elkhart, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; brother, Edward (Diane) Parshall; two sisters, Alice (Denny) Cross of Sherwood and Marilyn (Marty) Lepper of Coldwater, sister-in-law, Debbie Parshall of Florida and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Parshall.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon. Funeral services celebrating the life of Kenneth W. Parshall will be Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Mr. David J. Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at South Colon Cemetery. If desired the family suggest memorials be made in memory of Ken to either the Burr Oak Fire and Rescue or Life Care Ambulance. Envelope will be available at the funeral home.
