Carl Brossman, 84

Carl H. Brossman, 84, of Vandalia, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010 at his home. He was born Nov. 12, 1926 in Albion to Robert and Florence (Crego) Brossman. He married Gerane Sass in South Bend, Ind. on Oct. 27, 1949. She survives.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946.

Carl was a lifelong farmer.

Along with his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Carla Brossman of Elkhart, Ind.; one son, George (Vicki) Brossman of Vandalia; four granddaughters, Jessica (John) Whitmyer Kubit of Bartlett, Ill., Amy (Pat) Kelley of Cassopolis, Sara (David) Kieffer of Cassopolis and Taryn (Dale) Whitmyer Weidner of Elkhart, Ind.; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Don) Fairchild of Linden and Sue (Don, deceased) Campbell of Elkhart, Ind.; brother, R. L. “Lefty” (Dorothy) Brossman of Union.

Family and friends will gather on Thursday, Dec. 16 from 6-8 p.m. at Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, Cassopolis. Services will be on Friday, Dec. 17 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Cassopolis. The Rev. Paul Doellinger will officiate.

The family prefers memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 305 W. State St., Cassopolis, MI 49031.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Connelly Chapel, Wagner Family Funerals, Cassopolis.
