Natalie W. Saunders, age 46, of Mendon, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.
Natalie was born March 1, 1964, in Sturgis, a daughter to Tom and Sandra (Loudenslager) Johnson.
Natalie grew up in Colon, graduating from Colon High School with the Class of 1982.
Natalie married Vern Rodgers, which ended in divorce. Later on Oct. 12, 1991, she married Don Saunders in Kalamazoo.
Natalie was a homemaker and loved to sky dive, fish, hunt, go boating, and mushrooming. She especially enjoyed time spent at the cabin up north.
She is survived by her husband Don Saunders of Mendon; son, Tyler Rodgers and fiancé Sheena Gipple of Mendon; granddaughter, Maddison Rodgers of Mendon; mother and step father Sandra (Richard) Alber of Sherwood; brother, Brett E. (Jean) Johnson of Mendon; sister, Shawna Mohney of Colon; one nephew and four nieces and her faithful dog, Buddy.
Natalie was preceded in death by her father Tom Johnson; step-father, Bruce Mohney; and sister, Cynthia L. Thomet.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Schipper Funeral Home in Colon. Funeral services celebrating the life of Natalie W. Saunders will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Mr. David J. Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at South Colon Cemetery.
If desired, the family suggests memorials be made in memory of Natalie to the Huntington Disease Society or the St. Joseph County Animal Shelter. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
