Billie E. McDonald, 59, of Shipshewana, Ind., died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at Elkhart General Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 9, 1951, in Sturgis, a daughter of William Lewis and June Iris (Fickel) McKale.
She was a Stone Lake resident for the past five years, prior to that she lived in the White Pigeon area.
She worked in final finishing for Centurion, in inspection in recreational vehicle manufacturing and in shipping and receiving for Kencon in Bristol, Ind.
She was known for her sense of humor, enjoyed her family, cooking, baking, gardening and bird watching. She was an avid Notre Dame and Jimmy Buffet fan.
Surviving are two daughters, Courtney McDonald of Goshen, Ind., and Carrie Bingaman of Shipshewana, Ind.; her mother, June Maurer of Stone Lake; two sisters, Connie Malcom of Middlebury, Ind., and Toni Livengood of Walkarusa, Ind.; a brother, Ronnie McKale of Middlebury, Ind; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, William L. McKale.
Relatives and friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Jan. 22 at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Lung Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
