Luvergne “Skinny” Isaac, age 97, of Constantine, died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, at his home.
He was born Oct. 29, 1913, in Moorepark Township, a son of George and Caroline (Ruchaoft) Isaac.
On Dec. 17, 1932, he married Sadie King. She preceded him in death on Oct. 29, 1989.
On Sept. 14, 1991, he married Anna Friend at the Corey Church of the Nazarene.
Luvergne worked in production control at Grumman Olson for 13 years, retiring on Oct. 31, 1978. He previously worked at the Davie Paper Co. in Constantine and paper companies in Three Rivers.
Surviving Luvergne are his wife, Anna Isaac, of Constantine; daughter Janet (Ronald) Phillips of Wilson, N.C.; sons Harold John (April) Isaac of Constantine and James (Alma) Isaac of Silsbee, Texas; daughter-in-law Maxine Isaac of Constantine;and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Sadie Isaac; two daughters, Gertrude and Patty Ann; one great granddaughter; brother, Harold Isaac; stepsisters Wanetta Ivens, Marie Puffer and stepbrothers Elton and Lester Spade.
Relatives and friends will be received at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine from 5-8 p.m. Monday. Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Gary Carr, Corey Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment will be in Constantine Cemetery.
