Howard Eugene Bennett, 78, of White Pigeon, died Feb. 17, 2011, at his home of natural causes.
He was born May 1, 1932, at Long Lake in Cass County, to Clem and Bessie (Newman) Bennett.
He had resided in Florence Township, White Pigeon, since 1938 and was a farmer for many years. He operated the Moonlight Restaurant, was a White Pigeon school bus driver and worked at Frye Copy Systems in Sturgis until his retirement.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Sturgis Loyal Order of the Moose, the White Pigeon Grange and the White Pigeon Community Association.
Surviving are his daughter, Gail Marie (Mike) Allan of White Pigeon; sons, Randolph J. (Jackie) Bennett of Shipshewana, Ind., and Barb Wade Bennett of Niles, Mich.; grandchildren, Jason, Russell, Ben, Dustin, Jamie, Tony, Kristy, Trinity and Kahla; 15 great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Pat Bennett of Shipshewana, Ind. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Farrell Ricky Bennett in 2003 and a half sister.
Relatives and friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, where services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Jeffrey Stedge, of the Scott United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.
