Fran Lamb, 82

Francis A. “Fran” Lamb, 82, of Jones, died Thursday, March 17, 2011 in Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo. He was born Aug. 29, 1928 in Kalamazoo to Otis and Anna (Maas) Lamb. He married Millie Seager in Indiana on Aug. 8, 1950. She survives.

He was a loving husband and a wonderful father and grandfather. He greatly enjoyed his hobbies of golfing and bowling.

He was a cabinet builder at American Coach Company, Cassopolis, and Skyline Corporation, Elkhart, Ind.

Fran is survived by his wife, Millie (Seager) Lamb of Jones; one daughter, Sandra (Mark) Tucker of Middlebury, Ind.; one son, Gary (Gail) Lamb of Three Rivers; four grandchildren, Missy (Tim) Lake of Petoskey, Cassie Fuller of Kalamazoo, Cody Lamb and Tory Lamb, both of Three Rivers; three great-grandchildren, Timmy and Jordyn Lake, and Gabriel Lamb; and one brother, Robert (Shirley) Lamb of Dowagiac. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, MaryLynn Ledbetter; and one brother, Otie Lamb.

Family and friends will gather on Saturday, March 26 at 11 a.m. for a memorial service at First Baptist Church of Newberg (Poe’s Church), 13021 Born St. (corner of Patterson Hill Road), Jones, with Pastor Mike Owen officiating.

The family prefers memorial contributions to the Newberg Township Fire Department or Ambulance Service, 62003 Woodlake Road, Jones, MI 49061, or the American Cancer Association, 1400 W. Milham, Portage, MI 49024, or First Baptist Church of Newberg (Poe’s Church), 13021 Born St., Jones, MI 49061.
