Frankie M. Briney, 96, of Three Rivers, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Riverview Manor Nursing Home. She was born on Aug. 19, 1914 in Flowerfield Township, the daughter of the late Frank and Myrtle (Knight) Youells.
Frankie graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1933. On June 1, 1934 in Angola, Ind., Frankie was united in marriage to the late John F. Briney who preceded her in death in 1986. She was also preceded by three sisters.
Mrs. Briney was a resident of Bradford, Pa., and while there was employed at War Manpower Company and later at Penna State Employment Service. She moved to Three Rivers in 1948 and began working for Rifenberg Insurance Agency. She later became the City Treasurer for Three Rivers and worked for more than 21 years before retiring in 1972.
Frankie was a member of the Municipal Finance Officers, the Three Rivers Hospital Auxiliary, the First United Methodist Church, and also bowled on the Senior Leagues.
She leaves to cherish her memory many beloved nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 23 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr. Maria Rutland officiating.
Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery.
