Rose Roberts, 95, of Three Rivers, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 4, 1915 in Argo, Ill., the daughter of George and Katie (Namath) Wittendorf.
Mrs. Roberts has been a long time resident of this area. She and her late husband Arthur raised eight children on their family farm where she enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. Her greatest love was her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Rose especially loved playing her harmonicas at family gatherings and with her family band. Rose was also a member of the neighborhood Mint Ladies Club and the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and five sisters.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory eight children, Rose Mary (Jim) Beldon, Arthur (Kay) Roberts Jr., both of Constantine, Shirley (Cleon) Burnham of Marcellus, Frank (Karen) Roberts Sr., Daniel (Dorothy) Roberts Sr., Donald (Nancy) Roberts, Barbara (Steve) Hemenway and Cindy (Bob) Fenwick, all of Three Rivers; 26 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the time of services at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 29 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Pastor Terry Nelson officiating.
Interment will be held in Moorepark Cemetery.
