Helen B. Leeth, 87, of White Pigeon, died June 5,2011, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis following an extended illness.
She was born Nov. 7, 1923, in Blackford County, Ind., a daughter to Clifford and Elnore (Thornburgh) Barrett.
She was a 1944 graduate of White Pigeon High School and had lived in the White Pigeon area since the early 1940s.
On April 21, 1946, she married Emmett E. Leeth in Constantine. He died Jan. 30, 1976.
She was a homemaker and was employed in her early life by G&A Truck Lines in White Pigeon; Union Products and was an Avon lady.
She was a member of the White Pigeon Church of Christ, was a Sunday school teacher and storyteller for children and enjoyed reading the Bible, sewing and whistling.
Surviving are her son, Richard (Wanda) Leeth of White Pigeon; two daughters, Dawn Adam of Valpiraso, Ind., and Garnet (Thomas) Lockwood of White Pigeon; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Lutz of Coldwater; a brother, Arthur (Ed) and Bonnie Barrett of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Violet; two sisters; one step sister and two step brothers.
Relatives and friends may call from2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Farrand Funeral Home of White Pigeon. Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at White Pigeon Church of Christ with Pastor Barry Edds officiating. Burial will be in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.
