Willard Junior King, 88, of Three Rivers, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the Howell Nursing Care Facility. He was born on Dec. 16, 1922 in Flowerfield Township, the son of Willard Bruce and Millie (Mohney) King.
Mr. King has been a life long resident of this area. He graduated from Three Rivers High School with the class of 1943. On May 15, 1943 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Virginia R. Baker. Willard was employed by Armstrong Machine Works starting as a machinist and then as a foreman for 40 years before retiring. He was a long time member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Carol Hicks, two brothers, Howard and Herbert King; three sisters, Esther, Dora, and Millie Mae; one foster son, Alvin McGlothlen.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife of 68 years, Virginia King of Three Rivers; one daughter, Gail Crespo of Three Rivers; two sons, Howard (Dawn) King of Mendon and Michael (Cindy) King, of Three Rivers; one brother, Donald King of Three Rivers; one sister, Dorothy Browning of West Virginia; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15 at the Hohner Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 16 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Mr. Mike King officiating as well as Jessie King.
Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery.
