Connie Walters, 63

Connie L. Walters, 63, of Constantine, died Sunday, July 24, 2011, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo after an extended illness.

 She was born March 9, 1948, in Three Rivers, a daughter of Frank E. and Pearl (Long) Merritt. She had been a resident of the White Pigeon and Constantine area all her life.

 She was a homemaker and was a graduate of White Pigeon High School. She enjoyed collecting wind chimes. 

Surviving are a son, Matthew R. Walters of Constantine; a brother, Ronald E. (Xuong T.) Merritt of Constantine; nieces and nephews Amy, Frankie, Jamie and Mahn; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant daughter, Heidi. 

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scot Manning, pastor of Constantine United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Constantine Township Cemetery.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
