Charles Louis “Chuck” Johnson, 73, of Lampasas, Texas, died peacefully on Sunday, July 24, 2011 in Three Rivers after battling several illnesses. Chuck was born in South Bend, Ind. on June 25, 1938 the son of Charles A. and June L. (Alshouse) Johnson. He was raised on Long Lake and graduated from Three Rivers High School. He served for 23 years in the U.S. Army and fought in Viet Nam. He retired as a Sergeant First Class from Ft. Hood, Texas. Chuck and his wife, Helen, built a home in Lampasas in 1978.
Chuck owned and operated MacGregor Glass & Aluminum serving the central Texas area for 21 years. He was a devoted soldier, business, and family man who has joined the love of his life, his wife Helen Leora (Beebe) Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a grandchild.
Chuck is survived by four children, Jamie Haver, Jackie Kafka, Brenda (John) Warmack and Carol (Barton) Keller; a sister, Judy Cuellar; cousin, Bev (John) Lind; aunts, Maxine Calvert and Marge White; a step-brother, Jerry (Sherry) Tate; sister-in-law, Charlotte Beebe; and a niece.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been conducted and no services are planned. The family suggests that donations be directed to the Disabled American Veterans. Condolences may be left for the family at www.efhchapel.com.
