Gladys Slocum, 67

Gladys Jean Slocum, 67, of Three Rivers, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011 at her home. She was born on Dec. 15, 1943 in Three Rivers the daughter of Edward and Gladys Comeau. She graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1963.

Jean has been a long time resident of Three Rivers. She was a former member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church and also served on the Moose, Eagles and American Legion auxiliaries for many years. Jean loved hand held games, Tigers baseball, and was a huge fan of John Wayne.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, George Stauder; three children, Tammy, Scott, and Becky Stauder.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband, John C. Slocum of Three Rivers; one brother, Ray (Chris) Comeau of the Wisconsin Dells; two step brothers, Ed (Marie) Comeau of Three Rivers and Tom (Barb) Comeau of Holland, Mich.; brother-in-law, Carl N. (Kathleen) Slocum of Three Rivers; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23 at the Hohner Funeral Home. Chaplain Dan Lane will officiate.

Interment will be held in the Riverside Cemetery

Memorials may be directed to Three Rivers Health Hospice or the Animal Rescue Fund (A.R.F.) of St. Joseph County.
