Pat R. Griems, 71, of Sturgis, passed away early Tuesday morning, Oct. 11, 2011, at Sturgis Hospital.
She was born March 23, 1940, in Ellsworth, a daughter of the late George and Daisy (Graham) Martin.
Pat had lived most of her life in the Sturgis and Centreville area.
For 15 years she had been employed as a secretary for the Centreville Public Schools in Centreville.
Pat was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis. She truly enjoyed visiting with friends especially at the Great Lakes Coffee Shop in Sturgis and she loved her cat, Frenchie.
She is survived by two daughters, Laura (Tim) Miller of Sturgis and Deborah (Mike) Jones of Goshen, Ind.; two sons, Joseph (Debra) Schwartz of Sturgis and John (Shelly) Schwartz of Plano, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Courtney Miller, Reagan Miller and Drake Miller, Nathan Schwartz, Rachel Schwartz, Alexander Schwartz and Bronson Schwartz, Josh Haviland, Ben Haviland and Bryn Haviland; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Wayne (Jackie) Martin of Dearborn; two half-sisters, Susan (Ren) Snyder and Nancy (Dave) Rhodes, both of Ann Arbor; a half-brother, George Martin Jr. of Ann Arbor; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from noon-1:45 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 406 S. Lakeview Ave., Sturgis.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Patricia R. Griems will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the church. The Rev. Calvin Kolzow will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
