Vivian M. Ide Cutler, age 96, of Winter Haven, Fla., passed away early Sunday morning, Oct. 30, 2011, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.
She was born Oct. 13, 1915, in Coral, a daughter of the late Eugene and Mae (McGhan) Hopkins.
Mrs. Cutler had resided in Florida since 1976, coming from Vicksburg. Her early life was lived in Coral and she was a graduate of Coral High School with the class of 1933.
On Sept. 27, 1934, she married Glen G. Ide Jr. in Grand Rapids. He died in March 1979.
In September of 1982, she married Frank Cutler in Kalamazoo. He died in January 1992.
Mrs. Cutler was a dedicated homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was a member of Sturgis Church of the Nazarene, enjoyed crocheting and was a true prayer warrior.
She is survived by a son, George (Kathy) Ide of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Sally (Norman) Westover of Frederic and Diane (The Rev. John) Shoup of Sturgis; seven grandchildren, Jill (Jeff) Schmisk of Bradley, Ill., Sherri (Steve) Hendrix of Bethany, Okla., Alexa Ide of Tampa, Calvin (Sandra) Westover of Fredric, Amy (Bryan) May of Tampa, the Rev. Glen (Dr. Brenda) Shoup of Overland Park, Kan., and Julie Shoup of Lakeland, Fla.; four great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Arlene Hopkins of Belding and Jean Hopkins, St. Petersburg, Fla.; a lifelong friend, Leta Collier of Mulliken; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a sister, Maxine Little; and four brothers, William Hopkins, Lloyd Hopkins, Cliff Hopkins and Dick Hopkins.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Thursday and 10-10:45 a.m. Friday at Sturgis Church of the Nazarene, 70031 S. Lakeview Ave. in Sturgis. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the church. The Rev. Glen Shoup and the Rev. John Shoup will officiate. A graveside committal will be held atm3 p.m. Friday at Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell.
