Joann Lucille Walworth, age 78, Centreville, passed away Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at Fairview Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre.
She was born in Three Rivers on Sept. 30, 1933, a daughter of Arthur and Irene (Fox) Acker. Joann graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1951.
On May 22, 1951 she married Merritt James Walworth in Angola, Ind. She loved working with ceramics and playing the dice game Bunko. Joann was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Centreville.
Surviving are her husband, Merritt James Walworth, Centreville; daughters Kayla Sue (Clarence) Tomsic of Saline, Mich., Kathy Ann (Randy) Heldt of Milan, Mich., Kris Lynn (Ron) Blackwell of Whitmore Lake, Mich.; son James Merritt Walworth of Ypsilanti, Mich.; sister Betty Garrison of Centreville; grandchildren Bradley Heldt, Kylie Strip, Christopher Naida, Kindra Morelock, Curtis Blackwell, Kasie Blackwell; great-grandchildren Kirsten Heldt, Benjaman Morelock, Eli Morelock, Caroline Morelock, Kamryn Strip, Owen Strip, Matthew Naida and Anna Naida. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law Robin Walworth; brother George Acker; and sister Marilyn Clark.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Centreville with Pastor David Grimm officiating. Interment of Ashes will be in the Nottawa Township Cemetery.
