Marva Grimm, 68

Marva Louise Grimm, 68, of Three Rivers, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011 at the Bronson Methodist Hospital following a very lengthy illness. She was born March 24, 1943 in Three Rivers, the daughter of Marvin and Ethel (Kline) Dicken.

Mrs. Grimm graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1961. On Dec. 24, 1961 she was united in marriage to Mr. Robert Grimm who took excellent care of her during her illness. Marva was employed at Three Rivers Rubber Co., The Shakespeare Co. of Kalamazoo, St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Dept., Broadway Market for 10 years and eventually retired from the Three Rivers Schools as an elementary secretary in 1993.

Marva loved being around children, parents, and teachers. She loved to attend her children’s sporting and band events. She liked to fish, read books, arrange silk flowers, play bingo, bowl and travel. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving family, husband, Robert Grimm of Three Rivers; two daughters, Penny (Thuryll) Carvey of Marshall and Kelly Grimm of South Bend, Ind.; three sons, Todd (Estelle) Grimm of Chicago, Ill., Robert II (Anna) Grimm of Clearwater Beach, Fla. and Spencer Ford of Schoolcraft; 10 grandchildren; two brothers, Robert “Fritz” Dicken of Colon and Bill Shively of Three Rivers; many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Per Marva’s request, cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
