Michael David McLellan, 50, passed away suddenly at his home Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 in Portage. Michael was born Sept. 1, 1961 in Niles the son of Robert Allen and Joan Verena (Dickerson) McLellan.
Michael was a graduate of Three Rivers High School in 1979. Michael honorably served his country in the U.S. Army. Upon his return to Three Rivers, he worked as a sports reporter for the Three Rivers Commercial-News and also taught photography at Glen Oaks Community College. He was employed at Bippus Shell for 10 years as a mechanic and was most recently employed at McDonald’s Towing. He also enjoyed acting and participating in all activities with the Three Rivers Community Players. Michael was an avid golfer, enjoyed throwing darts, and was very handy with computers.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Robert A. McLellan; two grandfathers; one grandmother; one uncle.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Jinyan “Bliss” (Huang) McLellan of Portage; mother, Joan McLellan of Three Rivers; grandmother, Hazel Dickerson of Ponchatoula, La.; brother, Robert (Karen) McLellan of Ft. Wayne, Ind. and their children, Brian, Kyle and Lisa McLellan; sisters, Linda (Steve Gibson) McLellan of Ponchatoula, La. and their children, Faith and Anna Gibson, and Sandra (Peter Priestner) McLellan of Chelmsford, Mass.; many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. at the Hohner Funeral Home, 1004 Arnold St., Three Rivers on Friday, Feb. 10.
Funeral Services will be held at noon with one hour visitation prior to service at the First Presbyterian Church of Three Rivers, 320 N. Main St., on Saturday, Feb. 11 with Rev. Dr. Jon Deily officiating.
