Phyllis Bauman, 88

Phyllis M. Bauman, age 88, of Sturgis, Mich., passed away Thursday evening, Feb. 9, 2012, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.

She was born Oct. 13, 1923, in Constantine, Mich., a daughter of the late Howard and Ruth (Linn) Bauman.

Phyllis resided in Sturgis since 1986 coming from Boston, Mass.

She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis and enjoyed embroidery and reading.

She is survived by one niece, Sally (Dale) Kirkham of Columbia, SC; two nephews, Byron (Lisa) Davis of Milton, Mass. and Lewis (Clare) Davis of Corona, Calif.; two cousins, Kenneth (Linda) Linn of Interlochen and Betty Lawrence of Sturgis and several great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Ellen Davis.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 1–1:45 p.m. Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sturgis. A memorial service celebrating the life of Phyllis M. Bauman will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the church. The Rev. Calvin Kolzow will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at the Constantine Cemetery in Constantine.
