Repair crews who spent last week correcting a bumpy railroad crossing on U.S. 12 in Sturgis will be back today to perform additional work.
City officials said the work will center on a warped railroad tie on the tracks located on West Chicago Road, the busiest east-west route in the city.
The Michigan Department of Transportation will be handling traffic control around the repair. Traffic will be able to use US-12 during the work, but eastbound traffic will be shifted to the center lane.
Work is scheduled to start around 9:30 a.m. and take around four to six hours.
