On the first day of February, UniQ Jewelry, Gems and Gifts of Distinction, announced what is becoming an annual Valentine’s Day chance to win something luxurious for anyone willing to make the effort to enter. The grand prize this year was a 14 carat heart shaped deep purple Amethyst valued at over $1,000.00! 14 carats on the 14th! There was no coincidence there! In addition to the one of a kind gemstone, Ridgeway Floral added a stunning dozen purple haze roses to the prize package.
Valentine’s morning at 10:00 AM Doug Mitchell, owner of UniQ, drew a single slip of paper out of at least 800 entries. Thaddeus Pollwczynski was 2012’s lucky winner, and he immediately bequeathed his prize package over to his Valentine ~ Allison Skaggs. Allison and Thaddeus are a main stay in the historical shopping district in downtown Three Rivers and can often be seen walking hand and hand up and down the street patronizing Main Street’s merchants. “We couldn’t think of a more deserving winner if we tried! Well everyone deserves to win … but Allison … she LOVES sparkle and she LOVES bling AND she LOVES UniQ! It was an exciting moment when she came in to collect her prize with Thaddeus,” said Mitchell.
