Lovina Borkholder-Miller, 76

Lovina Borkholder-Miller, age 76, of Centreville, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 22nd, 2012 into the arms of Jesus after struggling with cancer for 4 years. She was born in Elkhart County, IN on November 6, 1935 to Jacob J. and Lizzieann Borkholder. At an early age her family moved to the Nottawa, MI area. She attended school in both Indiana and Michigan.

On June 28, 1958 she married her loving and dedicated husband, John C. Miller at Moorepark Church. They have lived on the family farm for the 53 years that they have been married.

Before retiring, she was employed by Freemans Manufacturing Co. in Sturgis for 3 years as their top surgical lacer and by E&K restaurant in Centreville for more than 20 years. She was an active member of Fellowship Bible Church. She also served as a Sunday School ad Bible School teacher at different churches for many, many years, as well as head of their Sewing Circles.

Lovina was fond of homemaking, gardening, humor, music, and traveling with her loving family, exploring and enjoying much of God’s beauty in all the states except Delaware. One of the highlights of her life was a surprise trip to Gatlinburg, TN for a week with the whole family for their 50th wedding anniversary.

Surviving in addition to her husband are four sons and their spouses, Gary (Susan) Miller, Vicksburg, Larry (Caroline) Miller, Terry (Stacey) Miller, and Barry (Tammy) Miller, all of Centreville area, her grandchildren, Kraig (Michaela) Miller, Stacey (Nathaniel) King, Meranda (Joshua) Erdos, Samantha, Melinda, Jacob, Emmaline, Savannah, Zachary, Brady, Robert, Ryan and Trevor Miller, and great grandchild Haley King. Also surviving are four sisters, Martha (Ivan) Miller, Katie (Eddie) Miller, Emma Borkholder-Moore, all of Centreville, Lizzie Mae (Matthew) Katalinich, Saline, brother Daniel (Colleen) Borkholder, Jackson, sister-in-law Viola Borkholder, Saginaw, brother-in-law Andy W. Miller Cisne, IL, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Mary Miller, Annie Miller, and brother Lloyd Borkholder. She was dearly loved by her family and friends, and was well known for her humor, laughter, and kind positive attitude.

Relatives and friends will be received Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Firm Foundation Ministries; 651 E. Main St., Centreville. Funeral services will follow on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Pastor Jim Savasta and Pastor Don Smith will be officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Centreville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Bible Church, Goshen Cancer Center in Goshen, IN and Three Rivers Hospice.
