LeRoy G. Kleidon, 94, of Three Rivers, passed away on March 20, 2012, at Three Rivers Health.
He was born in Chicago, Ill., the son of the late Gustav and Adeline (Stricker) Kleidon. LeRoy has been a resident of Three Rivers since 1988. On Nov. 1, 1941, he married his wife of 66 years Mildred Elizabeth Kleidon, who preceded him in passing. He was also preceded in passing by a sister. LeRoy and Mildred were both members of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, where LeRoy served as a church elder.
He was truly devoted to his family and to his community. He was a retired CPA and volunteered as the head of the Senior Citizens Tax Clinic at the Three Rivers Library for a number of years. He served honorably as a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force during WWII as a First Sergeant and Warrant Officer. He also enjoyed photography, music, wood working, oil painting, the outdoors, reading and old movies.
He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Kevin (Sally Boudi) Kleidon of Colon and Lee D. (Shirley) Kleidon of Westminster, Colo.; three grandchildren, Brian (Krista) Kleidon of Mundeline, Ill., Briana (Kleidon) Martin and Kaylee Kleidon; two step-grandchildren, Shannon Dean and Layle Boatright; three great-grandchildren, Morgan, Elizabeth and Nash Kleidon. A memorial service will be held on May 4 at 9 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1200 Arnold St., Three Rivers, MI 49093, with Pastor Sidwell officiating. Interment of remains will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
