Charles Allen Wooten, age 35, of Sturgis, Michigan passed away unexpectedly early Monday afternoon at his home.
He was born February 20, 1977 in Circleville, Ohio a son of Charles V. and Sandra (Stahl) Wooten.
Chuck was a lifelong Sturgis resident and a graduate of Sturgis High School with the class of 1995.
For the past 10 years he had been employed by IAC in Mendon. Before joining IAC he had worked 10 years for Continental Accessories in Sturgis and had also worked for several years at Burger King in Sturgis.
Chuck was a past member of the St. Joseph County Conservation Club and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and electronics. He loved video gaming especially when he was playing with his nephew Gabriel.
He is survived by his parents, Charles and Sandra Wooten of Sturgis, three brothers, Timothy (Kate) Wooten, Andrew Wooten and Michael (Christy) Wooten all of Sturgis, nephew, Gabriel Michael Wooten, loved daughter, Cheyenne Purzycki of Centreville, grandfather, Otis Stahl of Sturgis, aunts and uncles, Linda (Gary) Majors of Sturgis, Cindy (Jeff) Brittingham of Sturgis and Mary Lou (Thomas) DeLong of Grove City, Ohio, Jerry (Janet) Stahl of Sturgis, Larry Stahl of Sturgis, Martin Stahl of Sturgis and Marion (Darlene) Wooten of Sturgis and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles E. and Georgia Wooten and Avis Stahl.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-2331. Funeral services celebrating the life of Charles Allen Wooten will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev, Deb Johnson of the First United Methodist Church of Sturgis will officiate. In accordance with Chuck’s wishes cremation will follow the service. Private burial of the ashes will take place at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
