Madeline Evelyn Duncan, age 95, of Sturgis, Mich., passed away Friday morning, May 11, 2012, at Thurston Woods Village in Sturgis.
She was born July 14, 1916, in Kosciusko County, Ind., a daughter of the late William M. and Florence M. (Reed) Cleveland.
Mrs. Duncan resided in the Burr Oak and Sturgis area most of her life.
She married Albert Duncan who preceded her in death Aug. 14, 1968.
She was a homemaker and did babysitting in her home.
Mrs. Duncan was a member of the former Gateway Church of God of Sturgis and enjoyed going to garage sales and church rummage sales.
She is survived by five nieces, Joan Bennett of LaGrange, Ind., Rheta Yoder of Dunlap, Ind. and Wilma (Gene) Foreman of Constantine, Dorothy Duncan of Three Rivers and Ann Phillips of Grand Rapids, three nephews, Leland (Pauline) Cleveland of Orland, Ind., Larry (Maureen) Cleveland of Elkhart, Ind. and Max James (Nancy) Cleveland of LaGrange, Ind.; special longtime friends, Gary and Nila Mills of Sturgis and many great nieces and great nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10–11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes – Hackman Chapel, 114 S. Nottawa St., Sturgis, MI 49091, (269) 651-2331 where funeral services celebrating the life of Madeline Evelyn Duncan will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Pastor Lorraine Bolley will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak.
