Kim M. Binkley, age 48, of Colon, passed away, Saturday, May 12, 2012, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo after a seven-year battle with cancer.
Kim was born Oct. 29, 1963, in Battle Creek, a daughter to Delos R. and Dolores (Eddy) Bertrand.
Kim lived in Colon all of her life, graduating from Colon High School with the Class of 1981.
On Jan. 23, 1982, she married Jeff Binkley in Colon.
Kim had been employed at the Village Market in Colon for several years and for 20 years at Rehu in Sturgis.
She is survived by her husband Jeff Binkley of Colon; children, Brian Binkley of Colon, Tara Binkley and special friend Brian Owens of Fitzgerald, Ga., Rebecca Binkley and special friend Adam Frisbie of Colon and Jeffrey Binkley of Colon; grandson, Adam Frisbie Jr. of Colon; mother, Dolores Bertrand of Colon; two brothers, Rexford Bertrand of Colon and Jacob (Lorie) Bertrand of Bronson, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Delos Bertrand; and sister Julie M. Dunkel.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, from 5-8 p.m. at the Schipper Funeral Home LTD. in Colon. Funeral services celebrating the life of Kim M. Binkley will be Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery in Colon.
