Harlon Phillip Robinson, 88, of Three Rivers, passed away on May 22, 2012 at the Heartland Health Care Nursing Home. Harlon was born on June 18, 1923 in Cass County, the son of the late Phillip “Jerry” and Edna (Roberts) Robinson.
Harlon graduated in 1942 from Marcellus High School. He married Alma Boggio on Feb. 2, 1945. On Oct. 11, 1952 he married Rachel Lucille Eash Crawford, who passed on Aug. 19, 2000. Harlon enjoyed softball, hunting and fishing. He retired from Eddy Paper and Weyerhaeuser Company after 36 years. He was also a member of Corey Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one granddaughter, Bobby Jo Robinson; two brothers, Carlos Robinson and Lester Roberts.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory two sons, Harold (Beverly) Robinson, with whom he was living, and Phillip Robinson, both of Three Rivers; granddaughter, Jana (Thomas Clark) Middlehurst, of Mendon; grandsons, Richard Robinson and Robert (Jennifer) Robinson, both of Kalamazoo; six great-grandchildren, Justin, Hannah, Kelly, Dakotah, Judas and Osborne; three sisters, Ruth (Bob) Wolgamood of White Pigeon, Phyllis (Keith) Anderson of Granger, Ind. and Mary (Jack) Smith of Lebanon, Mo.; step-grandchildren, Ronald (Wendy), Kent (Dawn), Dana (Yvonne), and William (Rolanda) Hammon, Julie (Jim) Kelbley; also many step-great-grandchildren, step-great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29 at the Hohner Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30 at the Hohner Funeral Home, with Pastor Gary Carr officiating.
Interment will be held at Riverside Cemetery.
Memorials may be donated to the Corey Church of the Nazarene.
