Vicki Slusher, 63

Vicki J. Slusher, 63, of White Pigeon, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, after a brief illness.

She was born May 12, 1949, in Sturgis, a daughter of Wayne F. and Nora E. (Barrett) Packard. She had been a White Pigeon resident all her life, and was a graduate of White Pigeon High School in 1967.

On Aug. 1, 1970, she married Lewis J. Slusher in Constantine. She had been employed at JCPenney in Sturgis for more than 30 years, and also at Sturgis Bank and Trust.

Surviving are her husband, Lewis J. Shusher of White Pigeon; three daughters, Tracy Nimz of Sturgis, Karen (Russell) Parker of Centreville and Heather (Shawn) Rouch of Goshen, Ind.; eight grandchildren; a sister, Kathy (James) Baker of California; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Pastor David Bell of Mottville Community Church will officiate. Donations may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or The Arthritis Foundation.
