Fern O. Anway, 77, of Sturgis, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, following a short illness.
She was born Jan. 31, 1935, in Ypsilanti, a daughter of Frank and Maude (McComber) Dingman. She had been a Sturgis resident for the past 50 years, coming from Three Rivers.
On June 26, 1965, she married Allen Anway in Sturgis. He preceded her in death July 29, 2012.
She had worked as a homemaker and a nurse’s aide.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda Gates of Centreville, Vickie Armstrong of Sturgis and Debra Gearhart of Nottawa; a son, James Bradford of Dowagiac; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three sisters; a granddaughter; a grandson; and a great-grandson.
Family and friends may call 10-11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Rodger Moyer officiating.
Interment will follow in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.
