Edward Thompson II, 42

Edward William Thompson II passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, in Three Rivers.

He was born March 4, 1970, in Petoskey, to Edward and Claudette Thompson of Cheboygan. Edward was raised in Cheboygan and graduated from Cheboygan High School in 1988. Ed enjoyed deer hunting, Steelers and spending time with Eddie and C.J.

He worked most of his life in the manufactured home industry and building cabinets in his spare time.

Survivors include a daughter, Claudia JoAnn; a son, Edward W. III; his father, Edward W. Thompson Sr. (Joyce) of Carp Lake; a brother, Stephen Alexander (Marlene) of Cheboygan; sisters Collette Ocko (Jim) of Engadine, Wendy Thompson of Alanson and Dannette Osier (Roy Sr.) of Pellston; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, mostly in the southern Michigan area.

Edward was preceded in death by his mother, Claudette Thompson, in 1996.

A memorial service and celebration of Ed’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at his hunting cabin in Carp Lake.

Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution is asked to remember his children, Claudia (C.J.) and Eddie. A fund has been set up at Century Bank and Trust (Sturgis, Three Rivers or Nottawa) for this purpose.
