Michael J. Ludwick, age 58, of Colon, and formerly of Bronson, passed away, Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at the Sturgis Hospital emergency room.
Mike was born Jan. 10, 1954, in Sturgis, a son of the late Sylvester and Virginia (Hyska) Ludwick.
He grew up in Bronson, graduating from Bronson High School with the class of 1972.
On Nov. 10, 1973, he married Diana Hughes in Bronson.
Mike moved to Houghton Lake from Bronson in 1995 and moved back to Colon in March of this year.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Mike is survived by his wife, Diana Ludwick of Colon; three children, Kim Metz of Sturgis, Michael J. Ludwick Jr. of Bronson and Ashley (Mark) Rutterbush of Cadillac; seven grandchildren, Chelsea, Caitlyn and Michael Metz, Mikaela and Lane Ludwick, Jared and Victoria Rutterbush; two brothers, Richard Ludwick of Cody, Wyo., and Joe (Kathy) Ludwick of Bronson; a sister, Evelyn Ransbottom of Bronson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Schipper Funeral Home in Colon. Cremation will follow, with private interment of ashes at a later date.
If desired, memorials may be made to the family.
