Mildred D. (Chuck) Hosted, 83, of Sturgis, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at her home, following an extended illness.
She was born Aug. 16, 1929, in Mottville Township, a daughter of Payson Bernard and Bessie M. (Bowman) Carper. She had been a resident of the Sturgis area for 18 years, coming from Constantine.
She was married to Wallace C. Hosted, who preceded her in death.
She had been employed as a cook at several area restaurants, including Meeks Mill and Fireside, and was a homemaker.
She enjoyed fishing, reading, crocheting and crossword puzzles.
Surviving are three daughters, Sharon (Bruce) Harsho of Horton, Susan (Bruce) Miller of Sturgis and Sydney (Greg) Moore of Dallas, Ga.; a son, David (Debbie) Hosted of Santee, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carol (Bob) Bell of Constantine and Phyllis (Delton) Bell of Mottville; two brothers, Sam (Joann) Carper of Centreville and George A. Carper of Challis, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Sandra Ely; and five sisters and brothers.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, with Pastor Scott Manning of the United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.
