Here’s a reminder that the St. Joseph County Conservation District is planning its last river cleanup of the season Saturday.
A stretch of the Portage River in Mendon and Park townships will be the focus of the agency’s eighth cleanup event this summer. Cleanup efforts will focus on a stretch of the Portage River in Mendon and Park townships. The end point will be at 55225 Thompson Lane, on the west side of Fishers Lake, where a lunch will be provided to anybody who helped on the previous seven cleanup efforts this year.
Prospective volunteers for Saturday’s scheduled event may leave their vehicle at 55225 the Thompson Lane address and will be shuttled to the starting point.
