Margaret Ravish, 92

Margaret Yvonne Ravish, 92, of Sturgis, died Sept. 27, 2012, at Sturgis Hospital, following an extended illness.

She was born July 22, 1920, in Jasonville, Ind., the child of John F. Bender and Hazel O. Kent.

She resided in Niles, and moved to Winter Haven, Fla., in 1974.

In 1942, she married Franklyn D. Robbins and in 1970, she married Clarence Ravish.

She was a waitress at the Four Flags Hotel and Portafino restaurants in Niles. She was a member of the Niles Seventh Day Adventist Church for many years before moving to Florida, where she was a member of the Winter Haven, Fla., Seventh Day Adventist Church. She was the church treasurer for many years and was very active on the church lunches and crafts. She loved garage sales.

Surviving are her brother, Jerry Bender of Big Rapids; a sister, Clare (Bender) Keeler of Utah; three children, Sandra McCurry of Sturgis, Garhart Robbins of Clinton, Ark., and Craig (Evelyn) Robbins of Niles; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three stepchildren, Norma McPherson of Massillon, Ohio, Phyllis (John) Bechler of Niles and Mary (Russell) Chadderdon of Buchanan; eight step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Flavious, Darl, and Bobby; and sister, Doris Jaynes; and a stepdaughter, Wilma Anderson.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Commission on Aging.
