Marvin Eugene Reed was born Aug. 20, 1957, in Sturgis and passed away Oct. 24, 2012, at Rose Arbor Hospice of Kalamazoo.
He resided most of his life in Sturgis before moving to Kalamazoo in recent years. He was a U.S. veteran, having served in the Army, where he was stationed in Germany.
Marvin was an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast, traveling the country each summer with his three sons. He was also a collector of antique cars.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian E. Eatinger (Reed); his father, Robert M. Reed; and recently, his oldest sister, Kathryn A. (Howard) Schroeder (Reed) of Portage.
He is survived his three sons, Nicholas M. (Amy) Reed of Plainwell, Jereme E. Reed of Sturgis and Anthony R. Reed of Sturgis; a granddaughter, Jade Nichol Reed; brothers Charles (Linda) Reed of Sturgis and Kenneth Reed; friend James Lauck of Otsego; and sisters Shirley (Art) Krontz (Reed) of Bronson and Miriam (Dan) Stevens (Reed) of Three Rivers. Also surviving is the mother of his sons, Belinda Reed of Sturgis.
Visitation will 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday be at Hackman Family Funeral Home — Rosenberg Chapel, 807 Chicago Road, Sturgis, immediately followed by the funeral service. Minister Mike Roberts, Church of Christ, Bronson, will officiate. Burial will be at White Pigeon Cemetery, with full military honors by the U.S. Army Honor Guard and the Capt. John J. Kelley V.F.W. Post, #1355.
