Two fatalities in crash

Cass County Sheriff Joseph Underwood Jr. reports said deputies handled a double-fatal traffic crash on Chapel Hill Street, just east of Baldwin Prarie Road at 9:14 p.m. Tuesday in Porter Township.

Ross Gambill, 19 from Osceola, Ind., said that he and two friends were traveling east on Chapel Hill Street at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and struck a tree.

The driver was identified as 19-year-old Gabriel Spencer-Forsyth, of Tennessee. A second passenger was identified as Kevin Shupert, a 20-year-old Elkhart, Ind. resident.

Both Spencer-Forsyth and Shupert died at the scene as a result of their injuries. Gambill, meanwhile, was transported to South Bend Memorial for treatment of his injuries.
