White Pigeon Community Schools had four of its 14 buses red-tagged during annual inspections earlier this week.
Superintendent Ron Drzewicki (joo-VICK-ee) told board of education members Wednesday the violations were on three of the district’s four oldest buses, which are 14, 15 and 17 years old.
Drzewicki said Michigan State Police inspectors indicated the violations were minor and would not have been detected during the course of routine maintenance.
One of the four buses was cleared to be back on the road, as its violation was corrected while inspectors were on site. The other three, Drzewicki said, will likely be cleared by no later than early next week.
The district accepted an offer from Sturgis Public Schools for the use of one of its buses for White Pigeon’s Thursday afternoon run.
