Frank Meudt, 74

Frank Josef Meudt, 74, of Three Rivers, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 at Riverview Manor surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 25, 1938 in Cologne, Germany the son of Josef and Franciska (Stuhler) Meudt.

Mr. Meudt grew up in his home country of Germany, moving to the United States at age 21 where he joined the U.S. Army and served two years before his honorable discharge. While living in Eastpointe (East Detroit), Frank was a tool and die maker for Fisher-Body, later transferring to Three Rivers where he eventually retired from Hydra-Matic (now American Axle). Frank was an avid billiards and tennis player. He loved being outdoors and spent many hours cutting wood. He truly loved his family, especially spending time with his two grandsons, Adam and Seth.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Marianne Hardt, of Germany. He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Robertshaw) Meudt, whom he married on April 25, 1960; two sons, Frank (Patty) Meudt of Three Rivers and George Meudt of Jones; two grandsons, Adam and Seth Meudt of Three Rivers; one sister, Katie Plumhoff of Detroit; one brother, Ferdi Meudt of Germany.

A memorial celebration will be held 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at the Hohner Funeral Home with Deacon Bart Connelly as celebrant.
