Edna May Schrader, age 79, of Centreville, passed away Saturday, November 3rd, 2012 at Sturgis Hospital. She was born in LaGrange County, IN on April 26, 1933, a daughter of Joseph and Maude (Yoder) Bontrager. On May 21, 1951 she married Kenneth L. Schrader in Nottawa. He preceded her in death March 14, 1990. Edna worked as a Nurses Aid at Fairview Living Centre in Centreville and also as a personal Health Aid and in Housekeeping. Edna loved her family and cherished time spent with them. She attended many school events and activities watching her grandchildren. She also loved animals, especially her dog Sparky.
Surviving are her daughter Debra (Henry) Schwartz of Burr Oak, sons Donald (Roxanne) Schrader of Sturgis, Darryl (Rhea) Schrader of Nottawa, sister Mary Mohler of Millersburg, IN, brothers Charles Bontrager of Goshen, IN, Dave Bontrager of Millersburg, IN, grandchildren Leanne Schrader, Lowayne Schrader, Lyndsie Schrader, Jessicah (Jeremy) Palmer, Kendall (Jeremy) Hannan, Vanessa Schwartz, Aubrey Schwartz, Randi (David) Reed and Haley (Andy) Gest, great grandchildren Benjamin and Conner Reed, Raegan Schrader and her very special friend Robert Thayer of Mendon. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Willis Bontrager.
Relatives and friends will be received Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m. at Eley Funeral Home in Centreville. Private Family Services will be held at a later date.
