State proposal results

All five proposed constitutional amendments were rejected by voters in Michigan, by wide margins.  They included Prop 2, which guaranteed collective bargaining rights and invalidated certain laws dealing with collective bargaining. Also rejected were Prop 3 which required 25 percent of Michigan energy generation to be from renewable sources, and Prop 4 which dealt with collective bargaining for in-home health care workers.  And voters Tuesday rejected Prop 5 which required a two-thirds vote of the legislature before tax increase bills could be sent to the Governor, and Proposal 6 which prohibited new international crossings without statewide and local voter approval.  Proposal 1, which retains Michigan’s emergency manager law, appeared headed for rejection after earlier opening up a big lead.  With 83 percent of the vote counted, the proposal appeared headed for rejection by a four point margin.  (Michigan Radio Network)
