Paul J. Cooper, 90, of Marcellus, passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at his daughter’s home in Gobles.
He was born Jan. 5, 1922 in Marcellus the son of James A. and Sophia (Timm) Cooper. On Dec. 18, 1948 in South Bend, Ind. he married Dorothy M. Beeson who survives.
He graduated from Marcellus High School in 1940. He was a longtime member of the Marcellus United Methodist Church and a past Trustee at the church. He was also a 20-year member of the Marcellus Fire Department and Ambulance Service.
Surviving besides his wife, Dorothy, are one daughter, Jeana (Kenneth Frisbie) Cooper of Gobles and one son, Randall (Roberta Donovan) Cooper of Three Rivers; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Paula Rae Cooper in 1971, three sisters and three brothers.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, Marcellus.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29 in the Marcellus United Methodist Church with Pastor John D. Messner officiating. Burial will follow in the Marcellus Cemetery.
