Mary Catherine Kuhnle, 90, of Three Rivers, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at the Sunshine Adult Foster Care Home.
She was born on Oct. 23, 1922 in Pleasant Hill, Ohio, the daughter of Ralph and Catherine (Schultz) Thompson. Graduate of Newton High School in Pleasant Hill. Married to Harry Kuhnle Jr. on Nov. 1, 1941. She was a homemaker and also worked in a munitions factory during World War II. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, and cooking. She was a resident of Three Rivers since 1954. Following the death of her husband, she lived with her youngest daughter’s family for several years, returning to Michigan in 1996.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years; her parents; and her brother, John William Thompson.
She is survived by three daughters, Cassandra (Charles) Major of Centreville, Connie (Jerry) Jolly of Three Rivers and Sheila (Lewis) Custer of Vandalia; five grandchildren, Michael Major, Mark (Melissa) Major, Amy (John) Vancil, David (Beth) Jolly and Clint (Lisa) Custer; and six great-grandchildren, Catherine Vancil, Autumn, Zane and Brooke Major, and Megan and Jessica Jolly.
Visitation will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Eickhoff, Farrand, Halverson Chapel in Three Rivers where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, with Rev. Gary Carr, pastor of Corey Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Interment will be in Prairie River Cemetery in Centreville. Memorials may be directed to a charity of one’s choice.
