New construction for WP schools

Members of the White Pigeon Community Schools Board of Education last week hired Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. as the district’s construction manager for projects funded by the five-year, 3-mill sinking fund renewed by voters in May.

Superintendent Ron Drzewicki  said it’s estimated that the sinking fund will generate approximately $1 million of revenue per year for the projects over the five-year span.

Projects will include improvements to the parent drop-off and bus-loading loop, parking and driveways at Central Elementary, and science lab renovations at White Pigeon High School/Middle School.

TowerPinkster is the architect on the project and has been working with the district and community for the past year and half to determine the project scope. Drzewicki invites the public to visit the school’s website for progress updates.
