Eva Wooten, 91

Eva L. Wooten, age 91, of Sturgis, Mich., passed away early Saturday afternoon, Dec. 22, 2012, at Sturgis Hospital.

She was born Sept. 25, 1921, in Sturgis, daughter of the late Wallace and Emma (Ward) Kinsey.

Mrs. Wooten lived most of her life in Sturgis. On March 28, 1942, she married Clarence V. Wooten in Battle Creek. After 69 years of marriage he was called home on April 12, 2011.

During World War II, Eva worked for Milt Seger in Sturgis and she also had worked at David’s Dairy Bar in Sturgis. Her real love and passion was being a homemaker, stay at home mother and dedicated wife always caring for her family.

She was a member of the Sturgis Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed gardening cake decorating and fishing with her beloved husband Clarence.

Mrs. Wooten is survived one daughter, Susan Grabe of Sturgis, one son, Wallace (Tamara) Wooten of Sturgis; ten grandchildren, Michael Grabe, Linda (Kevin) Kelley, Kris (Steve) Zimmerman, Brenda (Jimmy) Schmucker, Dale (Rita) Grabe, Jack (Lindy Cosairt) Grabe, James (Cinda) Wooten, Courtney Wooten, Dane (Annie) Kline and Brittani Smith; 20 great-grandchildren, Craig (Megan), Nathan (Crystal Johnson), Briann, Nick, Zachary, Ashley, Alexis, Cole, Anna, Case, Collin and Brock, Hannah, Allison, Hadia, Derek, Bayli, Landen, Sereniti and Indrina; two great-great-grandchildren, Adalynn and Gabrielle and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five sisters and seven brothers

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Sturgis Church of the Nazarene, 70031 S. Lakeview Ave. in Sturgis. Funeral services celebrating the life of Eva L. Wooten will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Church. The Rev. Glenn Shoup will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
