Phillip Edward Jacobs, 76, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012. Phillip was born in Centreville on March 9, 1936 the son of Ernest W. and Edna (Cain) Jacobs.
Phillip was a long time resident of Three Rivers. On Oct. 16, 1955 he married his loving wife, Peggy (Nisonger) Jacobs, in Constantine. He served his country in the U.S. Army until his honorable discharge in 1957. Phillip was employed at General Motors for many years where he eventually retired. Phillip and his wife have also been long time members of Edwards Corners Bible Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working outdoors. He also enjoyed many hobbies such as wood working, playing golf and card games. Phillip was also an avid Lions and Tigers fan as well.
Phillip was predeceased by his parents and one granddaughter, Rachel Jacobs.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife of 57 years, Peggy Jacobs of Three Rivers; daughter, Holly (Kevin) Hart; sons, Mark (Sharon) Jacobs, Bret (Denese) Jacobs and Bart (Shelly) Jacobs, all of Three Rivers; brother, Paul Jacobs of Three Rivers; sister, Doris Sanders of Three Rivers; 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 4 at the Hohner Funeral Home with Pastor Dwight Hochstetler officiating.
