Paul Edgington, 84

Paul Junior Edgington, age 84, Sturgis, passed away Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born June 8, 1922, in Bryant, Ind., a son to Paul E. and Enid (Whiteman) Edgington and has been a resident of Sturgis since 1970, moving here from Nottawa.

Paul was first married to Rosetta Smith, she died Dec. 14, 1968. On June 14, 1969, in a little church in Centreville, he married Catherine (Hile) Bell.

He was a machinist and had worked at National Carbon Coated Company in Sturgis and at Arco Industries in Schoolcraft, where he retired in 1987. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army/Air Force serving during World War II and earning the rank of Sergeant, a member of the LaGrange American Legion, and he enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and gardening.

Surviving are one daughter, Peggy Edgington of Burr Oak; two sons, David Paul Edgington of Sturgis and Gary Lee Edgington of Centreville; step-children, Linda Sue (Clint) Michalove of Boiling Springs, SC and Cathy Lou (Ken) Long of Kendallville, Ind.; two sons, Dan Bell of Bakers, Fla., and J.R. (Lisa) Bell of Sunfield, Mich.; 23 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Thomas Edgington; three brothers, Robert, and Joseph Edgington and infant Richard.

Graveside services and interment celebrating the life’s of Catherine and Paul Edgington will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2013 at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.

Memorial donations maybe directed to the American Heart Association or Hospice of Sturgis, envelopes are available at the Hackman Family Funeral Home – Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091 who has been entrusted with the arrangements.
