Darrell Burton, 57

Darrell R. Burton, 57, of White Pigeon died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, following a short illness.

He was born July 2, 1955, in Three Rivers, a son of Alfred and Martha Mae (Anderson) Burton. He had been a resident of the White Pigeon area most of his life. He was a graduate of White Pigeon High School.

On Jun 19, 1976, he married Pamela R. Shafer in Union.

For most of his life he was a concrete finisher working for several area contractors. He was last employed in the shipping department for Native Hardwoods in Elkhart, Ind.

He was a fireman for the White Pigeon Fire Department for 20 years, and was retired. He enjoyed bowling, NASCAR, camping and all types of sports.

Surviving are his wife, Pamela R. Burton of White Pigeon; two sons, Jeremy (Maria) Burton of Roseto, Pa., and Justin (Katie) Burton of Granbury, Texas; three grandchildren, Edgar, Jaden and Marlee; three sisters, Sharon (Kenneth) Lincoln of Wilton, Iowa, Debra (Jeff) Frederick of Centreville and Brenda (Ron) Rex of Union; a brother, Dennis Burton of White Pigeon; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Roger and Jim Burton.

Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013. Justin Burton will officiate. Interment will follow in White Pigeon Township Cemetery.
