Kevin Ridenour, 57

Kevin Lee Ridenour, 57, of Peru, Ind., was escorted by angels into the arms of our Lord and Savior at 8:53 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving wife and his two daughters.

Kevin was born July 30, 1955, in Vicksburg, to Glenn Ridenour (Lafayette) and Janet (Ridenour) Crabtree of Michigan.

He graduated from Vicksburg High School in 1973. Shortly after graduation, he entered into the United States Air Force. After 20 years of serving his country, he retired in 1993. He worked at Rochester Metals in Rochester, Ind., from 1993-1996. He was employed at Schneider Electric (Square D) from 1996 until his early retirement in 2011.

On Aug. 18, 1984, he married Cindy (Myers) Ridenour in Peru, Ind. Kevin loved spending time with is wife of 28 1/2 years, Cindy Myers Ridenour, two daughters, Hilary and Ashley, his beautiful granddaughter, Kennedy Sue Grace (age 5 months), his beloved dogs Heidi and Harley, family and many friends, especially reminiscing about his Air Force days. He enjoyed running the sound system at Parkview United Methodist Church, reading and playing games on his Nook, reading Tom Clancy novels and watching Steven Seagal movies.

In addition to his wife, two daughters and granddaughter, he is survived by two sisters, Karen Kahler and husband Clifford of White Pigeon and Sharon Moon of Kalamazoo; nieces Wendy Mosher and husband Tim of Michigan and Elizabeth Moss of New Jersey; aunts Phyllis Jungjohan and husband Kenneth of Michigan; uncles Ralph Anderson of Michigan and Martin Anderson of Iowa; and stepfather Jerry Crabtree of Michigan. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Lora (Myers) Semon and husband Joseph of Indianapolis, Tina (Myers) Corn and husband Steven of Peru, Marlene (Myers) Drake and husband Daniel of Peru, Ella (Myers) Nickles and husband James of Frankfort, Ind.; and brothers-in-law Charles Myers of Bunker Hill, Ind., Mahlon Myers and wife Deb of Peru and Marland Myers and wife Rita of Carmel, Ind.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by aunts Joann (Anderson) Conine of Michigan, Ruthann (Anderson) Manion of Michigan, Sara (Ridenour) Herman of Florida, Flora Jean (Ridenour) Rinearson of Arizona and Peggie (Ridenour) Wise of Lafayette, Ind.; and an uncle, Art Anderson of Michigan.

Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Parkview United Methodist Church, 1785 S. SR 19, Peru, officiated by Pastor Tim Powers, the Rev. Bob Clark and Chaplain Brent Kirby of SouthernCare Hospice.

Kevin’s soul is rejoicing pain-free in heaven, while his body will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery in Peru.

Arrangements are entrusted to Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family.
